Marsden-  Pretty village with a variety of shops and pubs including the Riverhead Pub and Restaurant (own brewery) . Film location for “Where the Heart Is” (and occassionally “The League Of Gentemen”!) 

Standedge Visitor Centre  Describing the history of Britain’s longest canal tunnel, including boat trips

National Trust Marsden Moor Estate   Huge area of unspoilt Pennine moorland and valleys surrounding Marsden

Homfirth- film location for “Last Of The Summer Wine” 

Olive Branch restaurant- 5 minutes walk away, Good Food Guide & awarded AA rosette 

The Weavers Shed and White Hart restaurants, also in the Good Food Guide,  are within 10 minutes drive.

The cities of Leeds, Manchester, Bradford are within easy reach.

There is a golf course above Marsden.
